Welcome to CAMP-Detroit, Michigan!

The Council for the Advancement of Muslim Professionals (CAMP Detroit) is the premiere professional, not-for-profit, networking organization for Muslims from many diverse backgrounds working in the Michigan area.

CAMP-Detroit is an extension of CAMP International, which originally began in 1994 in Chicago, IL. Organizationally, CAMP caters to tens of thousands of members across North America with opportunities globally.

We aspire to capitalize the professional abilities of Muslims from a variety of professions. We seek to take advantage of the variety of skills represented by our members in order to advance the status of the Muslims of our community. CAMP-Detroit is a professional networking organization via social, professional and community events and activities. We seek to also engage in various activities such as assisting in locally-sponsored community events, such as running food and toy drives and supporting various human rights causes.

We have been the first and only professional networking organization for Muslims and have held many dynamic events, some of which include the following:

  • Visit to the Arab American Museum
  • Showing of "The Message" at the Novi eMagine Theatre
  • Seminar on Islamic Financing & Homebuying Tips from Muslim Realtors
  • Fundraising Luncheon for Katrina Victims (Formal letter of recognition from Governor Granholm, coverage from 3 newspapers and Bridges TV)
  • Three Summer Getaway Trips & a Ski Trip to Northern Michigan
  • Painting Houses for the impoverished of Pontiac
  • Annual Race for the Cure Cancer Walk
  • Three Ramadan Iftaar Dinners with letter writing campaigns for Amnesty International
  • Soup Kitchens
  • Eid Milan event
