CAMP-Chicago is proud to introduce Chitown-Chaitime series: A forum to discuss various social, political and educational issues as well as books, poetry etc over a cup of coffee or chai.

 

The discussions will be held every four to six weeks at various coffee shops, bookstores etc. If you are interested in moderating/discussing any topic, please let us know. The initial topic in the series is in regards to the American Muslim identity.

 

Chitown-Chaitime: Muslims in America: Pros & Cons?

Host: Kamran A. Memon   A renowned Civil Rights Attorney of Muslim community.

Details: Since 9/11, many Muslims have been grappling with the issue of our place in American society.

 

Join CAMP members for a roundtable discussion about whether Muslims have made/are making a contribution to society in the United States.

 

-         Is the US any better or worse today because of the Muslim presence?

-         Do Muslims have an obligation to help the US improve in any way?

-         Are our American and Muslim identities compatible?

-         How do they blend together?  Where are they in conflict?
