Danial Mohiuddin - Interm President

Danial currently serves as the Interim President of the CAMP Chicago Chapter. Dan initially joined CAMP in 2002 and served in multiple roles and went on to become the Chapter President in 2004. After serving on the board, he continued to play an active role within the Chicago chapter, and also got involved with the CAMP Michigan chapter.

Professionally, Dan has over 10 years of experience working in the aerospace & defense industry with a focus on sales and marketing. He currently lives in the Chicago land area and works for a tier one aerospace supplier as a customer account manger supporting clients in Utah, California, Texas, and Colorado.

Dan holds an undergraduate degree in aviation management from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and a masters degree in public policy from DePaul University in Chicago.

In his spare time, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife and son.

Asma Hashmi - Vice President

Asma is a graduate of Loyola University with a degree in psychology. She has been in the Human Resources/Recruiting industry for the past 11 years and has functioned mainly as an independent consultant. Her experience includes recruiting individuals in a variety of positions in several industries.

She was a former CAMP board member for a few years and has recently accepted a role as Vice President. She has dedicated herself to volunteering at various non-profit organizations and helping individuals, as well as organizations, achieve their goals. Asma believes in giving back to the community and is actively involved with several non-profit organizations, including IMAN (Inner-city Muslim Action Network) and Zakat Foundation. She also is a Personal Development Chair board member for Muslim Women's Alliance (MWA).

Ahmed Khan - VP External Affairs

Ahmed is a lifelong resident of Chicago. He grew up on the city's north side in Rogers Park. Ahmed is currently the Director of Operations at the Indian Muslim Council.

Ahmed has previously worked as Outreach Coordinator for Muslim Democrats, Associate Organizer for the Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago (CIOGC), completed government internships with two Cook County Commissioners, and has done substantial volunteer work at Hayat Clinic, a non-profit health clinic assisting low income Muslims. From these experiences he brings proven skills in public relations, project and event management, fundraising, and volunteer management.

He attended Loyola University of Chicago where he earned his Bachelors in Biology. In addition to completing some graduate coursework in Public Administration at Roosevelt University and possessing a Paralegal Studies Certificate from Depaul University, Ahmed is currently pursing legal studies in the John Marshall Law School's evening program.

Tawfiq Farraj - Outreach Coordinator

Tawfiq Farraj was born and raised on the Southside of Chicago and attended Curie High School. Tawfiq completed a Bachelors degree in political science with a minor in economics from UIC. While completing his undergraduate work, he participated in several university organizations including the mock trial team, pre-law society, and the economics club. Tawfiq currently works at the downtown location of Country Financial as a Financial Representative. When he is not working diligently in the office, he volunteers as an assistant coach for his high school alma mater’s decathlon team.

Tawfiq believes in being community conscious, so he serves as an active member of the Jewish Muslim Community Building Initiative (JMCBI) and the Network of Arab American Professionals (NAAP). Tawfiq believes one of the greatest gifts in life is family and he constantly spends quality time with his younger brother, two older sisters, and niece & nephew. Some of his hobbies include playing sports, watching movies, and going to as many great concerts as possible. Tawfiq has a list of specific favorites as well. His all time favorite movie is The Godfather while his favorite band is the Beatles. His favorite book is Palace Walk by Naguib Mahfouz and his favorite television show is The Simpsons. Tawfiq ultimately believes that is it always beneficial to invest in our communities through social justice advocacy and positive contributions so that we help to create a better world for future generations.

Ghazal Khan - CAMP Events Planner

Right after finishing MS in Molecular Genetics and completing her internship in Cytology she started her career in 1997 as a Cytotechnologist at SmithKline Beecham Laboratories. She has joined Palos Community Hospital in 2000 and is still working there. Ghazal’s deep interest in Genetics and research brought her back to school and in 2008 she finished MS in Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University.

Ghazal is very friendly and easy to approach person. She interacts very well with people from various cultures and backgrounds. She is the board member of the laboratory Continuing Education and Events Committee and actively participates in arranging educational seminars and social events. She is also the board member of Islamic foundation Event committee where she helps in arranging social fund raising events. In the past Ghazal has also served as a Sunday school teacher at Islamic foundation school (IFS).

Ghazal believes in taking the initiative and is very comfortable in playing a leading role in almost every situation. In her spare time she likes to do nature photography, likes to sing and love to discover good bakeries and their products. Ghazal is looking forward to work as CAMP Volunteers Committee Chair and feels quite confident in introducing new people to the upcoming events. Ghazal thinks that b/c of her interactive nature, great communication skills and pleasant personality she would be able to convince new faces to join the CAMP.

Saad Mohiuddin - Operations Committee & Media / Marketing

Saad works as an E-Commerce Designer at CDW Corp. He is also is a freelance Web Developer. First started out as a hobbyist then turned pro, Saad started his own business, Universal Web DeZine to cater the needs of small and mid-sized business to establish a solid online presence.

Saad attended Southern Illinois University for a BS in Information System Technology and Management. Saad joined CAMP Chicago in July 2008 as a Web Master and Media Coordinator and later took on the responsibility of developing and refining a process for chapter's various activities and heads the operations committee. Saad also volunteers for many Chicago based non-profits such as UMMA Center, IMAN, MVMA, Islamic Relief and Islamic Foundation and continues to seek volunteering opportunities. Saad is a technology enthusiast and wants to apply his skills towards helping the muslim community.

Waqas Sarwar - Treasurer

Waqas works as a Payments Analyst for Walgreens Corporation based in Deerfield, Illinois. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Purdue University in 2007. Waqas joined CAMP Chicago as the treasurer in March 2009.

Waqas is very active in the muslim community, volunteering for non-profit organizations, teaching at an Islamic Sunday school and is an assistant coach for a 7th and 8th grade boys basketball team.

Sabrina Qureshi - CAMP National Treasurer

Sabrina Qureshi is a Research Operations Specialist for a financial research firm in Chicago with 6 years of experience in the financial industry. Sabrina is responsible for streamlining processes while maintaining strict quality control. In her previous role Sabrina worked as a Senior Market Data Analyst and took on the responsibility of project management and employee training. She graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2003 with a degree in Finance.

Sabrina joined CAMP in 2006 and currently serves at the CAMP International VP of Finance and Administration. She continues to be active with the CAMP CHICAGO Chapter by helping coordinate events. Sabrina strongly believes in giving back to community and enjoys volunteering as well as supporting various humanitarian causes.
