Council of American Muslim Professionals in conjunction with Downtown Islamic Center is proud to present the first co-sponsored Downtown Sunday Brunch. The brunch is sponsored by Guidance Financial Group. Mr. Aijaz Hussain from Guidence Financial Group will give a short presentation on Sharia-compliant financial products and will also take question.

"In The Shadow of Malcolm X"  

Malcolm X articulated the anger, struggle and the beliefs of African Americans in the 1960's and became an outspoken advocate and leader of civil rights. With the 40th anniversary of his death recently passing, please join us for a thought provoking lecture and discussion to commemorate his legacy. The DIC Sunday Brunch provides a wonderful monthly forum for socializing and spiritual fulfillment. This provides an opportunity for those living in the area to connect or reconnect to the masjid in a warm and informal setting. 

The Sunday Brunch Program also offers organized play, songs and fun for children so please take this wonderful opportunity to bring your family and visit the new Downtown Islamic Center.

*Rami Nashashibi is Executive Director of Inner City Muslim Action Network. He holds a Master of Arts in social sciences from University of Chicago and is currently a PhD candidate of sociology. He is also an adjunct professor teaching in the sociology department at St Xavier University. He is a recipient of the Davis Putter student activist grant and frequently lectures on a range of topics relating to Islam, Muslims, and community activism.
