Donate for Earthquake Victims in South Asia
We are deeply saddened by the loss of life and destruction caused by the massive earthquake in South Asia. CAMP – Charlotte would like to offer their condolences to the victims of this earthquake. This devastating earthquake measuring 7.6 on Richter scale hit Pakistan, India and Afghanistan on the morning of Saturday Oct 8, 2005. It has claimed more than 26000 lives and has left millions of people homeless. Pakistan was the worst hit where atleast 25000 deaths have been reported so far and there is total destruction in Northern parts of Pakistan. Entire villages and cities have been destroyed. Hundreds of children are still trapped under the collapsed school buildings. Millions of survivors are left homeless and injured need shelter, food, blankets, medicines, tents and clothes. It is a race against time as millions including children are living out in the open in Kashmir without basic necessities of life and snow has already started falling. They are out in the open as freezing winter starts in Himalayas.
